CASTELLANO

Este fin de semana estuve en Puigcerdà, un bonito pueblo al norte de Catalunya que tiene como uno de sus principales atractivos el Estanque en el Parque Schierberck. Como imagino que debe ser normal en esta época, el estanque estaba casi totalmente congelado… eso junto con los patos, cisnes y las montañas del Pirineo al fondo hacía una estampa invernal hermosa, como de postal. Carteles de la policía local prohibían pisar el hielo o patinar (era visible que se estaba derritiendo y que no tenía el grosor suficiente), pero no sé si esto será todo el tiempo sin importar que tenga las condiciones adecuadas para ser seguro. Alrededor hay varios restaurantes con muy buena pinta, así que sin duda es un lugar digno de visitar.

This weekend I was in Puigcerdà, a very nice town up in the North of Catalonia that have as one of its main landmarks the Pond at the Schierberck Park. As it would be expected during this time of the year, the pond was almost completely frozen… this together with the ducks, swans and other birds and the Pyrenees in the background made a beautiful scene, postal like. There were signs posted by the local police prohibiting step on the ice or skating (it was visible that it was melting and that it wasn’t thick enough), but I don’t know if this rule applies all the time even if there are the right conditions to be safe. Around the place there many restaurants that look great, so definitely this is a place that worths a visit.
